Eligibility: -Applicants should have a master degree in chemistry or environmental sciences and documented knowledge and experience with one or more of the following Analytical chemistry, Environmental radioactivity, Environment chemistry, Radiochemistry.
-Previous experience with accelerator mass spectrometry and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry is an asset.
-Applicants should have abilities for communicating scientific results in English both orally and in writing.
-He/she must be able to work both in a team and individually.

Scholarship Description: The candidate will work in the Radioecology Research Programme in the Radiation Research Division. The project aims to develop methods for chemical speciation analysis of 129I in various environmental samples, in order to investigate the marine geochemical cycle and atmospheric chemistry of stable iodine; to understand the role of iodine in biological activity in the oceans, to improve knowledge on uptake, enrichment and conversion of iodine species in seaweed, as well as to investigate migration of 129I in geological media of importance for disposal of nuclear waste.
