Scholarship Provider: Technical University of Denmark
Scholarship can be taken at: Denmark
Eligibility:
Candidates must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent). In addition, the candidate must have experience in the following areas: * Optical design of high index-contrast (HIC) optical structures * Cleanroom processing of HIC devices in silicon and III-V semiconductors * Optical characterization of waveguide devices. * Potential for attracting external funding
Scholarship Open for International Students: No
Scholarship Description: A postdoctoral position is open at DTU Fotonik, Department of Photonics Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark, from 1 September, 2011 for 2 years. The postdoc position will be used to consolidate our work in passive or non-linear high index contrast optical devices in silicon and III-V semiconductors. The candidate is expected to lead the work on these devices, participate in ongoing EU-projects and help supervise new engineering and PhD students. The whole chain from device concepts, device design, cleanroom fabrication including e-beam lithography and dry etching, and device characterisation should preferably be mastered by the candidate. Further work may be related to wafer bonded devices and active devices. The candidate is expected to try to acquire funding from available funding agencies.
